Word Search: Daily Puzzles — Privacy Policy
Applies to the Word Search: Daily Puzzles mobile app on the Apple App Store (iOS/iPadOS) and Google Play (Android).
Effective: September 2026 · Last updated: 27 September 2026
Word Search: Daily Puzzles is a free, ad-supported word search game with 870 levels across 90 categories, a new daily puzzle, and a clue mode. There is no account, no sign-in, and no personal profile. We run no servers. The app has no in-app purchases. This policy explains the limited data involved in running the app and showing ads.
1. Information stored on your device
Your progress — levels completed, stars, the words you have found in levels you are partway through, your hint balance, bonus words claimed, and your daily puzzle streak — is saved locally on your device only. The app also stores a counter that controls how often ads appear. We never receive, transmit, or store your game progress.
Your device's own backup service may include this game data in your backups: iCloud or device backups on iPhone and iPad, and Google's Android backup on Android. That is how progress can come back after you reinstall the app or move to a new phone. Those backups are controlled by you and by Apple or Google; we cannot access them. Deleting the app removes the data from your device.
Every level and daily puzzle is built into the app. The game is fully playable with no network connection, except for loading and showing ads.
The app does not use any analytics or crash-reporting service. Gameplay events are not sent to us or to any third party.
2. Information we do not collect
We do not collect, request, or have access to your name, email address, phone number, postal address, date of birth, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, precise (GPS) location, health data, payment details, or any account credentials. The app requests no such permissions.
3. Device features the app uses
- Daily reminders (optional). After you finish your first daily puzzle, the app may offer a reminder when the next puzzle is ready. If you agree, your device schedules local notifications itself. No push service or server is involved, and no data leaves your device. You can turn reminders off in the app's Settings or in your device's notification settings.
- Sound and vibration. Short sounds and haptic taps as you play. You can turn either off in Settings. No data is involved.
- Links to our other apps. The Categories screen may show a tile for another app we publish. Tapping it opens Google Play or the App Store. No information is sent when you tap it, and the store's own privacy policy applies from that point.
4. Advertising
Word Search: Daily Puzzles is free because it shows ads through Google AdMob. Ads appear as occasional full-screen interstitials between levels, and as optional rewarded videos you may choose to watch for extra hints. Rewarded ads are always optional and never required to keep playing; if no ad is available, you receive the hints anyway.
To serve, measure, and prevent fraud in advertising, Google collects the following through the AdMob SDK embedded in the app:
| Data | What it is | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Device identifier | On Android, the Advertising ID. On iOS, Apple's Advertising Identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking when asked; Google may use other device identifiers as described in its policies | Third-party advertising, analytics, fraud prevention |
| Advertising data | Ads shown, taps, and interactions | Third-party advertising, analytics |
| Product interaction | Broad app usage signals such as ad requests | Analytics, advertising |
| Coarse location | Approximate region derived from your IP address — not GPS | Regional ad relevance, analytics |
| Diagnostics | Crash, performance, and other diagnostic data from the ad SDK | Reliability and analytics |
Google acts as an independent controller of this data. Its handling is governed by the Google Privacy Policy, and you can read how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
5. Your choices about advertising
On iPhone and iPad
When you first open the app, iOS asks whether Word Search: Daily Puzzles may track your activity across
other companies' apps and websites. If you allow it, Google may use your Advertising Identifier (IDFA) to show
more relevant ads. If you don't, the IDFA is never shared and ads are not personalised using it. Your answer
does not affect the game. You can change it at any time in
Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
On Android
Ads may be personalised using your Advertising ID. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID, and opt out
of ad personalisation, in Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads on some
devices).
In the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland
We show a Google-certified consent form before any ad is requested, allowing you to accept or refuse personalised advertising. You can change that choice at any time from Privacy choices at the bottom of the app's Home screen, which appears where it is required in your region.
In the United States
Where state privacy laws give you the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for advertising, Privacy choices on the Home screen lets you do so. You can also use the device settings above.
6. Legal bases and your rights
Because we hold no personal data ourselves, requests to access, correct, delete, or export advertising data must be directed to Google, which controls it. See the Google Privacy Policy for how to exercise those rights.
EEA / UK (GDPR)
Where personalised advertising is used, the legal basis is your consent, collected through the consent form described above, and withdrawable at any time. Where non-personalised advertising is served, the basis is legitimate interest in funding a free app. You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and may complain to your local supervisory authority.
California (CCPA / CPRA)
We do not sell personal information for money. Sharing a device identifier for cross-context behavioural advertising may qualify as "sharing" under the CPRA. Californian residents may opt out using Privacy choices on the Home screen, or by turning off ad personalisation as described in section 5. We honour either as an opt-out of sale and sharing.
7. Children's privacy
Word Search: Daily Puzzles is a general-audience app rated for ages 13 and up. It is not directed to children, is not enrolled in the App Store Kids Category or Google Play's Designed for Families programme, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through this app, contact us and we will act promptly. Parents and guardians can restrict advertising identifiers using the device settings in section 5, or use Screen Time (iOS) and Family Link (Android) to manage app access.
8. Data retention and security
Game progress remains on your device, and in any device backups you keep, until you delete it. We operate no servers and retain nothing. Advertising data is retained by Google under its own retention schedule, described in its privacy policy.
9. International transfers
Advertising data may be processed by Google on servers outside your country, including the United States, under the safeguards described in Google's privacy policy.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes or as legal requirements evolve. The revision date at the top will always reflect the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
